GPSG Graduate Student Assistant for Summer 2025 – Spring 2026
About the Appointment
The University of Pittsburgh Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) seeks a full-time (20 hours per week) Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) to assist with administration and student support for Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 terms. The appointment includes a stipend, a two-term full tuition scholarship, and individual medical insurance coverage (see the TA/TF/GSA regulations). The 2024-2025 academic year stipend is $11,170/term. Please direct further inquiries to Bailey Nichols gpsg@pitt.edu.
Appointment Responsibilities

Providing assistance and information to graduate and professional students who contact the GPSG;

Maintaining current and historical files on GPSG activities, budgets, correspondence, and responsibilities;

Creating meeting agendas and minutes, calendar of events, and services available through GPSG;

Assisting the GPSG VP of Communications to communicate information and announcements to graduate and professional students through available resources;

Chairing the elections committee;

Managing the leadership and service award process;

Supporting the officers of the GPSG as needed, and as time permits; and
-
Engaging in special projects in support of the GPSG’s mission as time permits and as endorsed by the President.
Requirements:

Enroll in at least nine credits or the Full-Time Dissertation Study option in Fall and Spring Terms

Eligible to work in the United States

Be in good academic standing (defined by the academic program)

Available to work approximately 20 hours per week in the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms, with a majority of time during University business hours and at least three hours in the evening.
